About Us

Emerson Krock, PhD and the Krock Lab explore the interactions between the nervous system, immune system and the microbiome to to devise a better understanding of chronic pain. We are especially interested in the peripheral sensory nervous system, painful autoimmunity and extracellular matrix remodelling. The lab combines experimental approaches from neuroscience, immunology and microbiology by utilizing animal models, human samples and clinical data.  The Krock Lab is in the state-of-the-art research space within the Alan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain and we are part of The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences.
